What Exactly Is the LogisVert Subsidy?
By Editorial Team
Updated on July 31, 2026
LogisVert is the financial assistance program that was launched by Hydro-Québec over the summer of 2023, encouraging homeowners to carry out energy-efficient renovations. In the hopes of favouring an energy-efficient transition while also reducing the carbon footprint left behind by residential buildings, this program was established to financially aid homeowners who are considering improving the energy efficiency of their homes. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the primary factors encompassing the LogisVert program and its eligibility criteria.
Important Note: The regular LogisVert program presented in this article remains active. However, if you are looking for information regarding the 100% financial assistance stream (free heat pumps for low-income households), please note that new registrations for this specific stream are currently suspended by Hydro-Québec.

LogisVert has for purpose of encouraging homeowners to adopt renovation measures promoting energy efficiency. This new program was established in the hopes of replacing subsidies already available in 2023, further benefiting future beneficiaries with better, and a greater number, of subsidies. Note that even if the majority of subsidies are meant for homeowners, some are still accessible to property tenants.
Who’s eligible?
This program has three tiers. It’s meant for current homeowners and property tenants as well as new construction owners. It also applies to installation and construction companies.
The LogisVert program features three distinct tiers catering to current homeowners, property tenants, new construction developers, and HVAC installation companies.
Here is a list of covered residential measures and their corresponding financial assistance:
Roof insulation and caulking: $1,500
Efficient heat pump installation: $50 per 1,000 BTU/h at -8°C (up to $6,720)
High-efficiency heat pump and caulking work: $140 per 1,000 BTU/h at -8°C (up to $7,800)
Induction range: $250
Heat pump clothes dryer: $250
Variable-speed pool pump and solar thermal collectors: $300
Here’s what’s available in the installer-dedicated tier:
Hydro-Québec enables installers to offer direct point-of-sale financial aid to their clients when selling and installing eligible equipment. Companies deduct the subsidy amount directly from the client’s final invoice and are subsequently reimbursed by Hydro-Québec.
Financial assistance varies by equipment type, including $15,000 for an electric thermal storage (ETS) heating system, $22,000 for an ETS system combined with a central heat pump, and $750 per 1,000 BTU/h for a geothermal heat pump.
In the construction builder tier:
Construction companies and real estate developers building single-family homes, multiplexes, or residential buildings with 19 units or fewer can access financial support by integrating energy-efficient measures during construction.
Financial assistance options vary based on the devices installed and the building type. For example, in a new single-family home, integrating a full optimization package—including an electric thermal storage (ETS) system, central heat pump, ENERGY STAR® air exchanger, and solar thermal hot water collectors—can qualify for up to $22,000 in financial support. In other cases, aid is granted on a per-1,000 BTU/h basis depending on the equipment selected.
How to Benefit from this Subsidy
The application process unfolds in four straightforward steps:

Compliance Verification: Your file (and potentially the physical installation) is verified for program compliance.
Payout: Financial aid is disbursed by mail or direct deposit.
Bonus Tip: If you combine two or more distinct measures in a single application (e.g., a heat pump + an induction range), you will receive a 5% bonus on your total subsidy amount.
Important Rules:
Applications must be submitted within 9 months of completing the work or receiving your final invoice.
Total financial assistance cannot exceed 100% of the purchase and installation costs, up to a lifetime maximum of $250,000 per home.

The LogisVert program plays a key role in Québec’s energy transition by encouraging homeowners to renovate in an energy-efficient manner. Courtesy of this subsidy, undertaking eco-friendly improvements is significantly more affordable, directly reducing greenhouse gas emissions while enhancing indoor comfort and boosting property values.
Available Retroactive Requests
Depending on the equipment, the application can be submitted either directly by the homeowner or handled by the installer through an immediate point-of-sale discount.
Important Deadline: Applications must be submitted online within 9 months of the installation date (or final paid invoice date). Projects completed outside this 9-month window are no longer eligible for financial assistance.
